It’s been a while since I last posted and today I’m only sharing a brief note. I recently analysed the employment destinations of University of Edinburgh PhD graduates over 3 years: 2011 – 2014. It’s worth a look to see how the picture varies for graduates between the 3 Colleges. For example, PhD graduates from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (now Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences) are most likely to go into teaching roles within higher education, whereas graduates from the Colleges of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine, and Science & Engineering are most likely to go into research roles outside higher education.
