From Physics to Data Science – transition from Academia to Industry

data-headOne of my colleagues alerted me to a short event on working in data science.  The Datalab is hosting a networking evening where a physics researcher will share her experience of moving from academia to industry.  There is an opportunity to hear her story, find out about the skills she had to emphasise to make the move, and do some networking afterwards with other researchers interested in data science.

When:  Thursday December 17th, 6.30pm

Where: The Datalab, University of Edinburgh, 15 South College Street, EH8 9AA, Edinburgh

Also worth adding for those interested in data science careers…
We have a new reference book at the Careers Service: “Data Science Interviews Exposed”, which advertises itself as “the first comprehensive data science interviews book written by experienced data science professionals from Facebook, LinkedIn, Microsoft and Amazon”.
