How to develop your profile in and outside academia

VitaeJust in case you haven’t noticed this Vitae event for researchers I thought I’d mention it.  It’s a live online #vitaehangout dedicated to self-promotion, pitching your ideas, networking and developing your independent profile inside or outside academia.

Thursday, 27 November, 2-3 pm UK Time

You all know how competitive it is to develop a career in academic research so whether that’s what you want to do or you are interested in exploring career ideas outside academia it’s worth thinking about how you can raise your profile to make an impact whatever career route you choose.

The session is aimed at postdoctoral researchers but will be of use to PhD students too.  It will feature a number of people (career experts, principal investigators, researchers) who have mastered the art of self-promotion and will discuss how to succeed and take advantage of profile-raising opportunities.

You will be able to watch and gain real insights, top tips and also have an opportunity to get involved in the conversation, ask and answer questions on a discussion board or on Twitter.

You can find out how to take part in the Hangout here.
