The Careers Service is looking for a PhD student to work on a part-time basis for the next couple of months. The student would conduct research to gather information on current practices relating to the Principals Career Development Scholarship (PCDS) Scheme for PhD students at University of Edinburgh. This scheme offers PhD students financial support with bespoke training and development around themes of teaching, public engagement, entrepreneurship and research.
The project aim is to understand and make clear the factors which contribute to success of the scheme and those which create difficulty and to gauge what, if any, opportunities exist to further utilise and support PhD students through a variant of the PCDS.
Interns would be expected to work 7 – 10 hours a week and closing date is 18 March 2013. You can view job details at www.ed.ac.uk/careers/sage Look under part-time jobs and put ‘PhD Intern PGR Employment Project’ in the job title box.
