Here is the latest round-up of job opportunities for those of you near to completion of your PhD. However, before I list them it just occurred to me that you may be wondering why I never post any academic research or teaching jobs. That’s because I’m assuming that you’ll be quite happy to find those sorts of vacancies yourself but would appreciate hearing about other openings that could be of interest. Please let me know if I’m wrong and I can do a post about where and how to look for academic jobs.
I’m only mentioning two jobs on the Careers Service vacancy database this time. Both can be viewed on SAGE along with a variety of other graduate jobs.
Financial Software Developer for Bloomberg, a provider of global business and financial news, data and analysis. The position leads to a variety of career paths, ranging from highly technical to more finance orientated and client-facing roles. They’re looking for BA/BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
Academic Education Technical Specialist, The MathsWorks Ltd, developer of mathematical computing software for engineers and scientists. They are looking for a PhD graduate in science or engineering to support academics to develop curriculum and contribute to content creation and technical engagement with Universities.
Although there are currently over 350 graduate jobs being advertised on SAGE, there aren’t that many specifically asking for someone with a PhD. While that shouldn’t stop you browsing the other jobs on SAGE to see if there is anything of interest, I thought I’d highlight a few interesting opportunities I’ve seen recently on other job sites.
