Job opportunities for PhDs

jobsHere’s the latest jobs being advertised by the Careers Service which may be of interest to those of you about to finish your PhD.  While some of them have an immediate start date, others are recruiting for summer 2013.

Alliance Trust are recruiting for their Management Training Programme.  If you are interested in investment and asset management then take a look.  Applications from PhD students in any subject area welcomed.

The European Space Agency are looking for a Research Fellow in the Future Missions Division.  You’ll need a PhD in engineering or physics and have worked in the field of remote sensing or electromagnetic wave propagation and interactions.

As this time of year tends to be a bit quieter for recruitment, I’m sneaking in a few jobs that don’t ask for a PhD graduate but that look interesting and where the skills you bring from a PhD would be of value.

NHS Scotland are recruiting for their 3 year management training programme.  If you are passionate about the NHS and have the confidence to take a leadership role, then this may be for you.  Applications from all academic disciplines are welcomed.

Knowledge Transfer Partnership are recruiting for a partnership between EPIC Housing and Staffordshire University.  They want a graduate (preferably with a postgraduate degree) with high-level research skills to work with housing practitioners and policy makers to try to positively change the way social housing works.

Nicholas Hall & Co are looking for a researcher / writer on their Insight Latin America publication.  You’ll need to have good analytical skills, be fluent in English and Spanish (with Portuguese an advantage), and be self-motivated.
