To be a successful researcher you must have an inquiring mind, be constantly questioning what you are reading or seeing, and be exploring new ideas to develop your research. These are all skills you can harness if you are interested in starting your own business in the future.
If you missed Global Entrepreneurship Week back at the start of November but have a business idea you would like to explore then you have another opportunity to do so.
The Acceleration Pipeline Workshop Series runs for 5 weeks in Jan – Feb 2013 on Wednesday mornings in the Main Library, George Square. You’ll get:
- dedicated time and space each week to make progress on your business idea
- a rigorous curriculum that culminates in a solid elevator pitch
- a chance to learn from peers at the same stage of business
The course is free, but there is limited space available. Find out more on their website.
Remember, business ideas do not have to be only connected to your research. Whether you want to make and sell cupcakes, make history programmes aimed at children, start a karate school, or develop a new technology for screening for bowel cancer, if you have an idea why not check it out?
